Arrest follows search warrant

A Toledo man was arrested after suspected drugs were found in his hotel room Saturday morning.

According to a release from Seneca County Drug Task Force - METRICH Enforcement Unit, Darren P. Parks, 29, was charged with possession of crack cocaine and heroin.

The search warrant was signed by Judge Mark Repp of Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court and was executed at Country Club Inn & Suites, room 105.

The room is the temporary residence of Parks and Krystal Chancey, 30, the release states.

"We found crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana and cash," said Detective Chuck Boyer, unit coordinator.

Boyer said officials had received complaints in the last three weeks about traffic in and out of the area and suspected drug activity, and they started an investigation. Officials were able to identify some of the people who were coming and going, he said.

Fostoria Police Department's special response team was used to execute the search warrant.

Additional charges of trafficking crack cocaine, possession of criminal tools and permitting drug abuse were pending on those involved in the investigation, according to the release.

The search warrant was executed about 9:30 a.m., according to Fostoria Police Department.

It was the second-straight day the task force executed a search warrant. Friday, officials searched a vehicle during a traffic stop on Maule Road at 2nd Avenue.

"(It's been) quite the week. ... It's been busy," Boyer said.
