Ashland apartment raided after suspected heroin OD

Authorities searched an apartment on Cleveland Avenue on Wednesday after a suspected heroin overdose the night before.

Members of the METRICH Enforcement Bureau, Ashland Police Division Detective Bureau and Ashland Special Response Team participated in the operation at 351 Cleveland Ave., Apt. 1.

They reported recovering suspected heroin, prescription drugs and drug abuse instruments during the search. The case is being forwarded for review to the Ashland County Prosecutor’s Office pending the filing of formal charges.

This operation was conducted to help combat the growing heroin addiction and trafficking issues in Ashland and the surrounding area. Local law enforcement pledges to continue taking proactive countermeasures to stop heroin abuse in our communities.
