Bellville pair facing charges in meth lab raid

Two women were arrested on drug charges Wednesday after a search of their Bellville home.

Rebecca Booz, 45, and Heather Mayer, 30, were arrested on numerous felony charges: illegally manufacturing drugs, a first-degree felony; illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for manufacturing drugs, a third-degree felony; possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; and child endangering, a fifth-degree felony.

Booz had one count of child endangering; Mayer had three counts. Children Services responded to the scene, according to a Richland County METRICH Enforcement Unit news release.

The two lived at 651 Honey Creek Road.

Methamphetamine specialists from the Mansfield Police Department, Shelby Police Department, and Richland County Sheriff's Office neutralized the chemicals. The Bellville Police Department and Seneca County METRICH Enforcement Unit also assisted on scene, the release states.

Complaints about methamphetamine production at the home originated from Bellville police and citizen complaints. Mansfield Municipal Judge Jerry Ault signed the search warrant, the release states.
