Butler County Sheriff, Richard K. Jones reports that early this morning, B.U.R.N (Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics) along with Butler County S.W.A.T (Special Weapons and Tactics) executed a search warrant at 147 Washington Street in the City of Hamilton. Calvin J. Simmons Sr., age 55 was arrested for Trafficking in Drugs a felony of the 3rd degree, Possession of Drugs, a felony of the 4th degree and Possession of Drugs, a felony of the 5th degree. Erin Beckman, a 40 year old female from Mason, Ohio was arrested on an outstanding warrant for contempt of court through Hamilton Municipal Court.
Butler County Agents’ seized over a quarter ounce of crack cocaine, a large amount of schedule II pills, $1,200.00 cash, drug paraphernalia and a handgun. “Mr. Simmons is no stranger to our system. He has a lengthy arrest record and continues to be part of the vermin in this county. My guys continue to do a great job at getting these people off the street and I am proud of the work they do,” said Sheriff Jones.
The Sheriff encourages everyone to continue to report drug-related activity to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that for the past few months, deputies and undercover agents with B.U.R.N. (Butler County Under Cover Regional Narcotics) Task force have personally visited several retail businesses. The idea is to educate them on indicators of purchases for the use of illegal drug manufacturing. “We have basically taught these businesses some things to look for and to contact us if they witness certain items being bought together or items that raise a red flag that could be used to make illegal drugs,” said Sgt. Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that around 7:30 PM yesterday, citizen complaints and anonymous tips led undercover agents to 220 N. D Street in the City of Hamilton where a large marijuana grow operation was being processed. A search warrant was jointly executed by agents of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Hamilton Police Department. There were approximately 63 plants and 2 loaded handguns confiscated from the home. James W. Gordley, 45 year old male, was charged with illegal cultivation of marijuana and trafficking in drugs, both charges are felonies of the 4th degree. “The charges are higher felonies because of children being in close proximity. There is a school and a park right across the street. We expect more suspects and charges to come out of this investigation,” said Sgt. Mike Hackney. [Read more…]
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that the Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics (BURN) taskforce along with the Butler County Regional SWAT team raided a Middletown residence in the pre-dawn hours of March 26, 2015. The residence, located at 704 Elwood Street, was part of a lengthy methamphetamine drug investigation carried out by the BURN taskforce. [Read more…]
