Cleveland Heights man accused of selling cocaine in Wickliffe

A joint investigation led to the arrest of a Cleveland Heights man accused of selling drugs in Wickliffe on Oct. 29.

At about 2:30 p.m., agents with the Lake County Narcotics Agency and detectives with the Wickliffe Police Department allegedly observed 29-year-old Ernest Brutton selling crack cocaine in a motel parking lot on Euclid Avenue, according to police.

Brutton left the area in a taxi, which was stopped by officers who arrested Brutton. Crack cocaine and cash allegedly were recovered by police, according to the post.

Brutton, of 3624 Shannon Road, was charged with two fifth-degree felonies: cocaine trafficking and possession of criminal tools. Magistrate Almis Stempuzis set bond at $7,500 surety or 10 percent cash. A preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 6, according to Willoughby Municipal Court records.
