Drug Raid Ends in Five Arrests

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A raid on a residence in South Point, Ohio, ends with five people under arrest on drug charges.

Members of the Lawrence Drug and Major Crimes Task Force and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office conducted the raid at 98 Township Road 1025 about 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Prosecutor Brigham Anderson says the raid was the result of an investigation into the sale heroin, cocaine and Oxycodone by the occupants of the residence.

Investigators arrested Asim McCoy, 32, of Huntington, Jerome Yancey, 32, of Huntington, Joseph Whlaey, 22, of Ironton, Benjamin Willis, 32, of South Point, and Amee Pyles, 28, of South Point.

Anderson says investigators seized heroin, cocaine, two guns and ammunition, more than $2800 in cash, drug paraphernalia, hypodermic syringes and digital scales.

The five people face various charges that include drug trafficking, drug trafficking and drug abuse.
