Drug-stuffed footballs lead to woman's arrest

A 43-year-old Bucyrus woman was arrested Wednesday after authorities seized two footballs
stuffed with contraband and drugs that were intended to be conveyed into Richland Correctional
Institution.

Janine A. Fulton was charged with illegal conveyance of drugs or other prohibited items onto
grounds of a detention facility or institution. The METRICH Enforcement Unit handled the
investigation with help from Mansfield police and Ohio Highway Patrol.

Marijuana eradication has been a focus this week. On Tuesday, METRICH seized more than 120
marijuana plants in Richland County, with an estimated street value of about $60,000. The
Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Ohio Special Response Team
assisted.
