Drugs found at Cleveland Road apartment

Three people were arrested Tuesday and two have been charged after a Medway Drug Enforcement investigation yielded crystal meth, heroin and marijuana at a Cleveland Road apartment.

Joseph Malcuit, 30, and Samantha McLean, 31, 2700 Cleveland Road, Apt. 1A, were charged with felony aggravated trafficking in drugs in Wayne County Municipal Court.

Both have been released from jail after posting their bonds. And they both have preliminary court hearings scheduled for June 1 in municipal court.

Court records show that Medway agents obtained a search warrant following an ongoing investigation and served the warrant Tuesday morning.

Malcuit, McLean and a third woman, who was visiting, were found inside the apartment.

Inside the apartment, law enforcement reportedly found a digital scale taped underneath a bathroom sink; baggies of suspected meth, heroin and Klonopin pills; and numerous other items of paraphernalia such as pipes. The Medway release indicates marijuana was also found.

Malcuit reportedly claimed the drugs were his, according to an affidavit filed with the court. He and McLean were reportedly dating and lived at the apartment together.

Wayne County Children's Services was contacted as McLean has a 7-year-old son who is autistic, but was not home at the time.

The suspected heroin weighed at two grams; the meth weighed at 7.4 grams.

The apartment is less than 300 feet from Edgewood Middle School. A release from Medway states the school was notified about the raid ahead of time.

The Wooster Police Department and Wayne County Sheriff's Office also participated in the execution of the search warrant.
