Heroin seized during METRICH drug raid

The METRICH Enforcement Unit, acting on an anonymous tip, seized $800, heroin and drug paraphernalia from a residence in the 100 block of Buckeye Avenue at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, according to police.

During the search, detectives said they located numerous syringes, suspected ingredients for manufacturing synthetic narcotics and other drug paraphernalia.

Detectives obtained a consent to search form for the safe and located suspected heroin and $800, according to the police report. A 38-year-old woman was issued a summons in lieu of arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia.

The 23-year-old man who was staying at the residence was arrested on a charge of possession of drugs and taken to the Richland County Jail and a felony warrant was prepared, according to the police report.

Richland County Children Services was contacted in reference to drug activity taking place in front of several children.
