Marijuana find in Wayne County

Wayne County Sheriff's Sgt. Eric Peters was among the law enforcement officers participating in a Friday effort to remove about 25 marijuana plants from cornfields flanking state Route 83 in the southern part of the county. The effort was the result of recent aerial surveillance throughout Wayne County, according to Medway DEA Director Donald Hall, who estimated the street value of the recovered plants to be about $25,000.

In addition to Medway and the sheriff's office, assistance was provided by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Orrville Police Department.
