Melrose Avenue man arrested during drug bust

Findlay police arrested a Melrose Avenue man after raiding his home on a search warrant.

Holden E. Smith, 25, was detained at about 11 p.m. Tuesday after a search of his 401 W. Melrose Ave. home, according to Det. Sgt. Justin Hendren of the Hancock METRICH Drug Enforcement Unit.

Police seized drug paraphernalia and chemicals and tools often used to make methamphetamine, Hendren said.

Smith was charged with assembly or possession of chemicals to manufacture drugs, a third-degree felony, Hendren said.

Additional charges and arrests are expected when the investigation is complete, Hendren said.

The Police Department’s Emergency Response Team and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation assisted with the search.
