METRICH arrests two on drug charges at Ohio Street home

METRICH and the Mansfield Police Department arrested a man and a woman Tuesday on drug trafficking charges.

The two agencies, with a search warrant signed by Judge Frank Ardis, searched 151 Ohio St. in Mansfield after receiving numerous complaints of drug trafficking in the area.

Tabatha L. Simmonds and Justin M.Simmonds were arrested and charged with several counts each of drug trafficking. Both were incarcerated at the Richland County Jail, where they await court appearances.

During the search, METRICH detectives seized suspected heroin, drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments, according to a METRICH press release.

"The METRICH Enforcement Unit will continue to target those individuals that traffic drugs in the community and would like to thank those individuals who called in the numerous tips and complaints regarding 151 Ohio St., which assisted detectives in this investigation," METRICH Commander Lt. Joseph Petrycki said in the release.

Additional charges against Tabatha Simmonds and Justin Simmonds may be forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
