METRICH-MARMET reports drugs, stolen gun seized in search

After serving a search warrant Monday, the METRICH-MARMET Drug Task Force is seeking information on the whereabouts of Shon Maniaci, 21.

An arrest warrant for possession of cocaine, a first-degree felony, and possession of heroin, a second-degree felony, was issued for him by Marion Municipal Court.

Maniaci is described as "a white male, 6-foot 2, 265 pounds with brown hair" in a METRICH-MARMET news release.

The warrant is a result of a search of 615 N. State St., where METRICH-MARMET detectives, the Marion city Special Response Team and other city officers reported they seized a stolen firearm, narcotics and $4,000 in cash. The raid took place at 3:30 p.m.

A news release issued by Lt. Chris Adkins said 84 grams of crack cocaine, 50 grams of marijuana, 39 grams of heroin and 4 grams of cocaine were found in the search, which was part of a two-month investigation.

The street value of the drugs was estimated at $14,000. A hydraulic press also was seized, officials reported.

"This case is currently ongoing and charges are expected," Adkins said. "This case goes to show crack cocaine is still very much abused. I urge those with information on drug locations to call the TIPS Line."
