Search Warrant Leads To Large Marijuana Bust

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that around 7:30 PM yesterday, citizen complaints and anonymous tips led undercover agents to 220 N. D Street in the City of Hamilton where a large marijuana grow operation was being processed.  A search warrant was jointly executed by agents of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Hamilton Police Department.  There were approximately 63 plants and 2 loaded handguns confiscated from the home.  James W. Gordley, 45 year old male, was charged with illegal cultivation of marijuana and trafficking in drugs, both charges are felonies of the 4th degree.  “The charges are higher felonies because of children being in close proximity.  There is a school and a park right across the street.  We expect more suspects and charges to come out of this investigation,” said Sgt. Mike Hackney.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Dog Warden also responded and removed 2 canines from the residence.  “My agents acted on this quickly.  Tips came in less than a month ago and this investigation has paid off greatly.  The bad guy is in jail and we’ve closed his business by taking his illegal product off the market,” said the Sheriff.

This case is still under investigation by B.U.R.N.  Sheriff Jones encourages anyone with tips on illegal drug activity to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
