Suspected crack dealer arrested

A suspect that drug investigators believe is a significant trafficker of crack cocaine was arrested Thursday.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department, in connection with the Logan County Joint Drug Task Force observed Terrick Ellis, 38, of Bellefontaine, walking westbound on Jay Avenue about 4 p.m. and took him into custody without incident.

A search of his person turned up suspected drug paraphernalia, police report.

A Logan County grand jury has indicted the suspect on three counts of trafficking crack cocaine as well as engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.

He was also arrested on on outstanding warrant for failure to comply with a police order that stems from a January incident in which the defendant allegedly fled from police in a vehicle.

He was lodged in Logan County Jail.
