Suspected drugs found in vehicle

Suspected drugs were found in a vehicle and at a North Washington Street residence after search warrants were executed Wednesday evening by the Seneca County Drug Task Force METRICH Enforcement Unit.

Chuck Boyer, unit coordinator of METRICH, said the first search warrant was executed on a vehicle in the 1900 block of West Market Street after it was stopped by police. A second search warrant was executed at 106 N. Washington St., the residence of Heather D. Foos, 37, and Roy L. Henry, 46.

Boyer said Henry had been a passenger in the vehicle that was searched.

Items confiscated during the searches included a small amount of heroin, prescription pills and suspected stolen jewelry, Boyer said. Criminal tools and drug paraphernalia also were found, according to a release from METRICH.

Boyer said no arrests were made Wednesday night following the searches, but charges including trafficking in heroin, possession of illicit prescription pills, possession of heroin, tampering with evidence, possession of criminal tools, permitting drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia are pending for Foos and Henry.

"This is just another step that area law enforcement is attempting to do to control the rising heroin epidemic that every community is presently facing these days," said Tiffin Police Chief Fred Stevens in the release.
