SWAT and Franklin County Sheriff's deputies in Franklinton neighborhood

West side neighbors are fighting back to help the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and SWAT take down a suspected
drug house in their neighborhood.

The Franklin County Drug Task force, working with Columbus police and Sheriff SWAT officers, raided three locations on Thursday as part of an investigation into an alleged cocaine-trafficking operation.

Officers got the tip after neighbors complained to authorities about alleged drug activity at a location on North Central Avenue.

The SWAT team hit Grandview Heights about 9:30 a.m., ordering many residents in the Goodale Boulevard-McClain

Road area not to leave as officers closed in on the person they intended to arrest.

In all, officers seized a loaded gun, amounts of marijuana and cocaine and an estimated $30,000 in cash from three separate locations -- Grandview Heights, Franklinton and another west side Columbus neighborhood.

Officers took one person, whose name had not been released by noon Thursday, into custody on a parole violation.
