2 arrested after drug bust in Quincy

Members of the Logan County Joint Drug Task Force arrested two Quincy residents Monday afternoon after serving arrest warrants and a search warrant at 221 Jefferson St. in the village.

Gary L. Smith, 51, and Pamela Wood, 57, both of that address, each was lodged in the Logan County Jail. He was issued a warrant for drug trafficking, while she was issued a warrant for two counts of drug trafficking and was charged with possession of drugs.

During a search of the residence, task force members recovered a large quantity of drugs, including heroin, prescription medications and drug paraphernalia. Additional charges will be sent to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Ms. Wood was the subject of a similar investigation in 2006, and she was charged with drug trafficking and possession of drugs at that time.

According to task force investigators, the Quincy community played a key role in assisting with their investigation.
