Three people were arrested Wednesday in a METRICH Enforcement Unit search that turned up suspected heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash at 1103 Harding Way East.

The METRICH Enforcement Unit, made up of Galion Police Department Special Investigations Unit, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and Bucyrus Police Department, obtained a warrant to search the home in reference to illegal drug activity.

Officers found suspected heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, syringes and cash and arrested three people on various outstanding warrants and charges:

Thomas Dan Whitt, 42, on a charge of possession of drugs;

Maggie Gerhart, 28, on a charge of possession of drugs; and

Marquis Allen, 21, on outstanding warrants.

“The Galion Police Department and METRICH Enforcement Unit continue to work together to develop information regarding illegal activity and coordinate investigations,” a press release states. “We appreciate all information we receive regarding illegal activity from the community and ask that the reports continue. We cannot do this alone.”
