3 arrested in task force drug raid in Trotwood

Two men and a woman are in jail on drug related charges involving heroin after a raid Tuesday afternoon that ended a month-long investigation.

Gary Shepherd, 63; Melissa Haywood, 35; and Michael Mays-Belton, 28, have been booked into the Montgomery County Jail on outstanding warrants as well, the Montgomery County RANGE Task Force said in a statement.

The three were arrested when the task force and Trotwood police officers, using a search warrant, raided 6201 Carmin Ave.

Tuesday night, the jail’s online records indicated that Shepherd was being detained on a misdemeanor count of permitting drug abuse. His bail is $2,500. Haywood is being detained on two counts of misdemeanor contempt. There was no information about Mays-Belton.

Detectives seized heroin, drug paraphernalia and approximately $1,000 cash.
