Lawrence Drug & Major Crimes Task Force
The Mission of the Lawrence Drug & Major Crimes Task Force is to identify, investigate, and arrest mid to upper-level drug traffickers. Provide recovery opportunities to those who suffer from substance abuse disorders. Educate the community about the danger associated with drug abuse, emphasizing middle and high school students. This is accomplished through collaboration with community stakeholders to improve the quality of life for all citizens. We do this while holding ourselves to the highest standards of professional conduct, respecting the dignity and rights of all.

David Marcum, Commander
David Marcum is Commander of the Lawrence Drug and Major Crime Task Force and Chief Investigator at the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office. David’s employment began with the Task Force in 1998, where he served as an Investigator and Assistant Task Force Commander through 2013, when he took over as Task Force Commander. He is a certified Ohio Peace Officer, holds a Federal Special Deputation, formed the Lawrence County Quick Response Team in 2017, and serves as a Board Member of the Ohio Task Force Commander’s Association.
