The Brown County Drug & Major Crimes Task Force has entered a drug forfeited car into the demolition derby at this year’s Brown County Fair. The event is Monday, September 26th , and we hope to smash heroin and put a dent into addiction of all kinds!
The Brown County Drug & Major Crimes Task Force (BCDMCTF) has completed three days of marijuana eradication in Brown County. Thanks to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal investigation (BCI), who coordinated the flights, this year’s endeavor has been very successful. I also want to thank all of the agencies that assisted us in this marijuana eradication effort.
The BCDMCTF seized over 800 marijuana plants, valued at over $800,000, along with 31 firearms, and 7 felony cases that will be presented to the Brown County Grand Jury in the next few weeks. Although marijuana is not perceived to be as dangerous as heroin, the BCDMCTF cannot ignore these illegal operations involving a drug that many feel is one of the gateway drugs to more serious substance abuse.
The Brown County Drug and Major Crimes Task Force (BCDMCTF) arrested Joe Stein, 36 YOA, 10156 Tri County Road, Winchester, Ohio for Trafficking in Drugs (Heroin). Stein was arrested on the evening of August 9, 2016, after a several week investigation into significant trafficking of heroin into Brown County. Agents from the BCDMCTF along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and Mt. Orab PD, stopped Stein in his vehicle on State Route 32 after he had made a trip to Cincinnati to purchase drugs.
