Cops: Local man tied to Calif. drug ring

A Goshen man is facing charges for allegedly being involved in an illegal drug ring with ties to California.

Goshen police officers with help from the Clermont County Narcotics Unit, Bureau of Criminal Investigations and an agent from the U.S. Postal Service conducted an investigation that led to the arrest of Thomas Hauer, 47, on Jan. 20.

In the raid at Hauer's home authorities seized more than two pounds of marijuana that was sealed and shipped via the U.S. Postal Service. Also taken during the raid was drug paraphernalia and a shotgun.

Officials in Novato, Calif. were notified by Goshen police of the investigation based on the location listed on the package. Officers there conducted their own investigation, leading to a search warrant at the home of Anthony Largo, 25. Authorities found a growing operation and seizedg 25 pounds of processed marijuana, 50 marijuana plants and drug paraphernalia. Clermont County prosecutors are looking to indict Largo, a former Milford resident.

Hauer is facing drug trafficking charges.
