Drug ring leader sentenced

A convicted Youngstown drug ring leader is waiting in Mahoning County Jail to be moved to a state penitentiary Friday.

Mahoning County Jail said Terrance Rushton, 33, was sentenced to at least eight years in prison, Thursday.

Rushton withdrew his original not guilty plea, to plead guilty to charges of trafficking in heroin, cocaine, having a weapon under disability, and money laundering.

He was considered the leader of a large drug ring that was broken up in July, 2015. Rushton was one of 37 people named in a 261-count indictment.
