Drug roundup in Fulton County results in indictments

More than 15 individuals have been indicted on dozens of drug charges by a Fulton County grand jury, according to the Fulton County prosecutor and sheriff’s offices.

The indictments were released one day after the Defiance County Prosecutor’s Office named 24 individuals indicted on similar drug-related charges. According to Doug Engel, director of the Multi-Area Narcotics Task Force (MAN Unit) the Fulton County cases culminated from an 18-month investigation that resulted in several of those individuals being arrested Wednesday morning. Many of those individuals made initial appearances in Fulton County Common Pleas Court that afternoon.

Fulton County Sheriff Roy Miller said results of the investigation could not have been possible without the cooperation of the county’s agencies including the Wauseon, Swanton, Delta and Fayette police departments and the MAN Unit, which also includes the Archbold Police Department and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office — all of which assisted in Wednesday’s roundup.

“It’s the reason we were able to do this and the results show,” said Miller.

Several of those indicted face charges involving marijuana and cocaine. Miller said those arrested were being provided with a summary of services that are offered by Recovery Services and how those services can be obtained.

“We want them to get over their addiction,” said Miller.
