DTF hits ELO home one day, Salem home the next

The county Drug Task Force covered the county the last two days - raiding a Salem home Friday a day after one in East Liverpool.

Cocaine, heroin and cash were seized from an East Third Street residence in Salem after a search warrant was executed on the premises Friday afternoon, county DTF director Lt. Brian McLaughlin said.

The DTF, Drug Enforcement Administration and Salem police descended on the property at 781 E. Third St. at 12:51 p.m. with the warrant as part of an ongoing investigation.

McLaughlin said the tenant was present at the rental property, but no arrests were made at this time. The investigation is continuing.

Thursday, a raid by authorities on an East Liverpool home led to the seizure of more than $1,500 in drugs and $5,700 in cash.

According to McLaughlin, the DTF was joined by East Liverpool police, the sheriff's department and its special response team and the DEA in serving a search warrant at a home at 1429 Trentvale St.

While inside, agents found crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana, Percocet and Diazapam. The drugs seized reportedly have a street value of $1,500. The additional $5,700 in cash seized is believed to have been involved in drug-related crimes.

McLaughlin said the matter remains under investigation and charges are pending.
