Highland County Sheriff Richard Warner reports that on April 3, 2014 the Highland County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. 23 Major Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant in NewMarketTownship after receiving information that subjects may be engaging in the Illegal Manufacture of Drugs. Intelligence was received that these subjects were involved in the production of methamphetamine.

The search warrant was executed in the 5000 block of Griffith Road in NewMarketTownship. During the execution of the search warrant an active one pot methamphetamine lab and chemicals used to produce methamphetamine were found inside the home including five minor children. Highland County Children Services was notified and assisted the Sheriff’s Office in removing these children from the home. The scene was processed and several items of evidence were collected that will be submitted to BCI & I in London, Ohio for examination. Jimmie Crabtree of Hillsboro was charged with Illegal Manufacture of Drugs, a felony of the first degree. He was arraigned in Hillsboro Municipal Court this morning and is being held on a $75,000.00 bond according to court records. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 10th.
