Ironton man arraigned in drug bust

A man arrested for trafficking in drugs during a drug bust in Ironton on Friday was arraigned in Ironton Municipal
Court Monday afternoon.

Isaac Hannon, 34, of 1350 S. Fifth Street, Ironton, appeared for his arraignment, where Ironton Municipal Court
Judge O. Clark Collins Jr. set bond at $50,000 cash or surety.

Friday’s bust involved officers from the Lawrence Drug and Major Crimes Task Force, Lawrence County Sheriff’s
Office, Ironton Police Department and the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office.An investigation in the weeks leading up to Hannon’s arrest was completed due to numerous complaints of drug
activity at the residence, and four individuals who had previously left the residence were arrested by the Ironton
Police Department.

On Jan. 14, Ironton Police Sgt. Brian Pauley and his K-9, “Goose,” arrested Walter Briggs II, of Detroit, Michigan, for
trafficking in drugs and aggravated trafficking for possessing drugs within 1,000 feet of Ironton High School, and
Jessica Smoot, of Proctorville, for possessing drug abuse instruments after officers found numerous syringes on her
during the stop.

In the vehicle, two bags of marijuana with a total weight of 7.5 grams, one bag of methamphetamine with a weight
of 8.2 grams and $2,039 in cash were found.

On March 6, Ironton officers arrested Clarence Blair Jr., of South Point, who was out on bond from a trafficking
charge in West Virginia at the time, and Brittany White with drug charges.

All four were arrested after leaving Hannon’s residence.

Controlled purchases from Hannon at the residence were also completed as part of the investigation.

The search of the residence on Friday revealed heroin, digital scales and marked money from the controlled
purchases.

Hannon’s preliminary hearing is set for 10 a.m. Thursday in Ironton Municipal Court.
