Joint investigation leads to drug bust

A joint investigation by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and the Galion Police Department into ongoing heroin trafficking resulted in a traffic stop on Atwood St at Liberty St in Galion Friday.

A Bucyrus Police Department narcotics K-9 unit was called to the scene and gave a positive indication on the vehicle; Charles F. Gardner (age-54) 815 Dawsett Ave Galion, OH was found in possession of seven (7) balls of heroin and cash. Gardner was issued traffic citations for fictitious and expired vehicle registration.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Crawford County Jail on a felony charge of drug possession. The investigation is continuing by the Sheriff’s Office, Galion Police and Metrich Enforcement Unit.
