Man arrested after drugs found in Findlay hotel

A Detroit man was arrested Tuesday evening after a search of a Findlay hotel room found drugs, according to the Hancock County METRICH Drug Task Force.

At 8:06 p.m. Tuesday, METRICH and the Findlay Police Department executed a search warrant at room 235 of the Red Roof Inn, 1951 Broad Ave. According to METRICH, the search found large amount of cash, heroin, marijuana, prescription narcotics, drug paraphernalia, criminal tools, and items indicative of drug trafficking.

Phillip D. Carswell, 27, of Detroit, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, a third degree felony, and possession of a schedule II controlled substance, a fifth-degree felony.

METRICH said additional charges of drug trafficking are expected pending laboratory results.
