Mentor doctor accused of overprescribing diet pills

Officials raided three offices of a Mentor doctor accused of providing diet pills beyond the scope of the medical practice.

According to Ohio State Board of Pharmacy, officials searched three offices of Dr. Rogaciano Trocio in the following locations:

• 7300 Mentor Ave. in Mentor
• 22900 Lorain Rd. in Fairview Park
• 1413 Golden Gate Blvd. in Mayfield Heights

In January last year, the state board conducted a joint investigation with local, state and federal agencies into Dr. Trocio allegedly prescribing medicine without legitimate medical purposes.

Evidence seized included patient charts, drug and financial records, cash and controlled substances.

No arrests were made during the search warrants.

This case will be presented to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office on a charge of drug trafficking.
