Meth lab found in shed of house reporting fire

A 38-year-old Mount Vernon man was arrested late Monday after an active meth lab was discovered at his Liberty Township residence, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

At 10:56 p.m. Monday, deputies and the Central Ohio Joint Fire District responded to a 911 call for a house fire.

A small fire was discovered outside the 7555 Columbus Road home, but an active meth lab was found in a shed at the residence, according to the sheriff’s office.

Jonathan R. Flack, who lives at the address, is being held in the Knox County Jail on one count of illegal possession of chemicals in the manufacture of drugs.

Additional charges are expected, Sheriff David B. Barber said in a news release. The incident remains under investigation.
