METRICH-MARMET arrests Detroit man on heroin charge

A month-long investigation ended in the arrest of a Michigan man suspected of dealing heroin.

The METRICH-MARMET Drug Task Force, along with the Marion City Special Response Team and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant in the 170 block of Davids Street on Tuesday.

Toriano M. Washington, a 40-year-old man from Detroit, was charged with trafficking in heroin and having weapons under disability.

Officers also seized a handgun, 4.5 grams of heroin and $5,560 during their search.

“The drug problem in Marion continues to be a top priority for local law enforcement,” said Lt. Chris Adkins in a news release. “This was another great case by members of the METRICH-MARMET Drug Task Force.”
