METRICH-MARMET seizes cocaine, heroin in bust

Dusty Maag, 34, is back in police custody on drug charges 10 days after a previous arrest that led to his release on bond.

Maag, a resident of 410 Glad St. according to police records, was arrested in the 700 block of Davids Street on Jan. 26 on felony charges of possession of heroin and tampering with evidence. City court records show a $7,500 bond was posted Feb. 1.

At 3:20 p.m. Thursday, the METRICH-MARMET Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 364 Olney Ave., seizing 45 grams of heroin and 18 grams of crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $10,000, according to a METRICH-MARMET news release.

As part of the investigation, Maag was arrested for possession of heroin, and the release said more charges are expected in the case. Lt. Chris Adkins said additional arrests might be made as a direct result of the operation.

"METRICH-MARMET continues to aggressively investigate and seek out those which sell poison in our community," Adkins said in the release. "It is not an issue of if you will be caught but when."
