METRICH Operation ends with arrest and search warrants

On Tuesday, August 12, 2014, the Seneca County Drug Task Force-METRICH Enforcement Unit, along with additional Officers from the Tiffin Police Department, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office & the Fostoria Police Department ended a drug related “sting” operation in the City of Tiffin which resulted in one arrest, the execution of two search warrants in Tiffin and the seizure of 2 (two) vehicles.

The first search warrant was executed at 55 Madison Street, Apartment #2, Tiffin, Ohio, that being the residence of Tyler J. Bustamante.

The second search warrant was executed at 34 McCullum St., Tiffin, Ohio, that being the residence of Christina M. Estrada, and Tyler J. Bustamante.

The search warrants signed by Judge Mark Repp of the Tiffin Municipal Court unveiled additional heroin, steroids, pills, US currency, criminal tools and evidence of drug trafficking from both residences.

Tyler J. Bustamante was arrested for Trafficking in Heroin a Fourth Degree Felony. Subsequent to Bustamante’s arrest, the Seneca County Drug Task Force – METRICH Enforcement Unit, along with additional officers from the Tiffin Police Department, Tiffin PD Canine Unit, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office & Fostoria Police Department’s Canine Unit, executed drug related search warrants on both Bustamante’s residences.

Additional charges of Trafficking Heroin (5 Counts), Possession of Steroids, Possession in Heroin, Tampering with Evidence, Possession of Criminal Tools are pending on Bustamante upon the conclusion with the entire drug investigation.

“Heroin continues to plague this community with drug overdoses & deaths of loved ones. Mr. Bustamante is one of the persons responsible for distributing major amounts of Heroin throughout the City of Tiffin. It’s time he needs to be held accountable.”......Unit Coordinator, Det.
