Neighborhood drug complaints in Wickliffe lead to two arrests

Two men are facing charges after being arrested during a suspected drug deal April 1 in Wickliffe.

According to Wickliffe police, a detective was patrolling the area around Nehls Park when he saw the alleged deal taking place. One of the suspects fled on foot and officers chased him before making an arrest.

Officers found the second suspect waiting in the passenger's seat of a Jeep SUV.

Court files state that Nashaun L. Drake of Cleveland is facing charges of trafficking in cocaine, possessing criminal tools, carrying concealed weapons, obstructing official business and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dannon D. Parker of Garfield Heights is facing charges for tampering with evidence, having weapons while under disability, possession of MDMA, possession of marijuana and selling, purchasing, distributing or delivering dangerous or investigational drugs.

Drake and Parker are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 10.

Wickliffe police stated that the detective had been conducting surveillance on Nehls Park Drive after multiple tips about drug activity at a home on that street.
