Officials: Heroin found in home search

Officials have reported they discovered heroin after searching a home in the southwestern part of the city.

Detectives from the MARMET Drug Task Force executed a search warrant around 4 p.m. Tuesday at 870 Henry Street.

The Marion Police Department, assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the department’s Special Response Team, said the search was in relation to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

Heroin, believed to be packaged for sale, and an unreleased amount of cash were reported recovered from the scene. A police detective declined to comment further. The investigation is ongoing.
