One arrest made after METRICH raid nets drugs, guns

A 38-year-old Crestline man was arrested Tuesday night on a drug trafficking charge following a METRICH raid at an Eckstein Road residence.

Authorities seized approximately 16 grams of methamphetamine, 20 grams of an unknown white powder and three rifles, according to Mansfield police Chief Ken Coontz.

The Richland County Sheriff's Office went to the residence to conduct a followup and saw illegal substances in plain view. Subsequently, members of the Richland County METRICH Enforcement Unit served a search warrant at 8:01 p.m. Tuesday.

Ryan Schroeder, of 950 Eckstein Road, was arrested on a warrant and a third-degree felony charge of trafficking in drugs, methamphetamine, and transported to the Richland County Jail.

Also at the residence, a 39-year-old Crestline man was arrested for an unspecified criminal violation and released on a summons, according to the police report.

Evidence was submitted to the Mansfield Police Department Crime Lab and analysis and safekeeping, according to the police report.

Schroeder is to be arraigned Thursday in Mansfield Municipal Court, according to the clerk's office.
