Police raid Norwalk residence, seize weapons and drugs

METRICH and members of the Norwalk Police Department detective bureau, with assistance from uniformed officers, executed a search warrant at the residence of William A. Schwab on Monday.

Schwab, 60, of 230 Whittlesey Ave., Lot D, recently sold oxycodone to an undercover police officer at his residence and was the subject of a recent narcotics investigation starting late last year, police said.

Twenty-two items of evidence were seized pursuant to the search warrant, including money, three firearms (one of which was loaded), prescription pain medication, suspected heroin and numerous items of drug paraphernalia, police said.

The loaded firearm, a Harrington & Richardson break top .32 caliber five-shot revolver, was located in the kitchen.

Schwab was arrested and has been charged with one count of trafficking in oxycodone.

The investigation is ongoing and other arrests will be forthcoming.
