Police say 3 Texas men arrested in Akron with 112 pounds of cocaine

Three Texas men were arrested last week in Akron after officers say they possessed more than 100 pounds of cocaine.

The arrest took place Friday in the 2700 block of Gilchrist Road.

Guadalupe J. Zarate, 42; Jesus Alberto Flores, 25; and Noe Romero Salinas, 32, have since been indicted in U.S. District Court in Cleveland.

Each man has been named in a one-count indictment charging them with possession with the intent to distribute 51 kilograms, or about 112.5 pounds, of cocaine.

The men were arrested following an investigation by Akron police, Summit County sheriff’s deputies, the Akron-Summit County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) initiative, the FBI and DEA.

The three men are being held in Summit County Jail under $1 million bonds.
