Raid nets drugs, arrests

A police search of a Findlay home this week turned up drugs and cash, according to law enforcement officials.

At 8:46 p.m. Tuesday, police executed a search warrant at 430 Findlay St., according to Detective Sgt. Justin Hendren of the Hancock METRICH Drug Enforcement Unit.

Discovered in the raid were heroin, cash, drug paraphernalia, prescription medication and criminal tools, Hendren said.

Ira B. Mason, 28, who resides at the home, was charged with one count each of possessing and trafficking heroin. The charges are fifth-degree felonies, according to Hendren.

Lamount L. Coates, 41, of Toledo, was charged with a fourth-degree felony count of possession of heroin and a third-degree felony charge of tampering with evidence, he said.

Both men were incarcerated at the county jail. The investigation continues, and additional charges and arrests are expected, Hendren said.

The Findlay Police Department Emergency Response Team assisted with the search.
