Raid yields cocaine, cash, assault rifle, 2 arrests

A man and woman are in jail following a raid Thursday that yielded cocaine, cash and an assault rifle.

Michael A. Adams, 32, and Jai Redic, 26, were arrested at an apartment in the 3800 block of West Cornell Woods Drive around 10:15 a.m. on a search warrant that is part of an investigation involving narcotics and firearms.

Each is being held initially on a charge of having weapons as a felon. According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, drug possession charges also will be filed against Adams and Redic.

The raid resulted in the seizure of cocaine, an AK-47 assault rifle, ammunition and several hundred dollars in cash.

The Montgomery County Regional Agencies Narcotics and Gun Enforcement task force conducted the raid with Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents and the county regional SWAT team.

No court dates were scheduled for Adams and Redic.
