Search Warrant on Kibby Street

On Friday, April 17, 2015, third shift Patrol Officer Scott Luedeke was responding to calls for service when he noticed a strong odor of marijuana in the area of Kibby and Metcalf St.  Sgt. Hart and Ptl. Link assisted Ptl. Luedeke in locating the origin of the odor of marijuana. While searching the area, officers realized the odor was coming from 616 W. Kibby Street. The officers, with the assistance of the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force, applied for a search warrant due to the distinct smell of marijuana coming from this residence. With the aid of the Lima Police Department’s Enhanced Tactical Unit, Lima Police Department served the warrant at 616 W Kibby St. in Lima, Allen County, Ohio.

Officers located a marijuana grow operation inside the residence. Located was 86 total marijuana plants which varied by size and maturity. Also located was marijuana growing equipment that was not being used. The investigation is still pending. This case will be presented to grand jury at a later date.

The West Central Ohio Crime Task Force is comprised of officers from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, Lima Police Department, Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office, Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
