Search Warrants Reveal 2.5LBS Of Crack Cocaine, 1 Arrested

A Pickerington man is facing federal drug charges after he was allegedly found to be in possession of powder crack cocaine, thousands of dollars in U.S. currency, and three guns.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, 23-year-old Christopher McDowell was arrested at his home in the 300 block of Belstone Street, in Pickerington, on Tuesday at about 5 p.m.

Detectives from the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Franklin County Drug Task Force, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Fairfield Hocking Major Crime Unit and Pickerington Police served two narcotics search warrants at McDowell's home and at a home in the 3700 block of Beechton Road, in Columbus.

While executing the search warrants, agents uncovered 2.5 pounds of powder crack cocaine valued at approximately $90,000, drug packaging material, about $100,000 in U.S. currency, an AR-15 assault rifle, a Smith and Wesson handgun, and a Glock handgun with a 30-round, high capacity magazine.

McDowell was transported to the Franklin County Main Jail where he is currently behind held on federal drug trafficking charges.
