Suspected drugs found during ELO raid

Units with the Columbiana County Drug Task Force in conjunction with East Liverpool police raided a home located on 933 Bank St. around 8:30 a.m. Friday and took a Cuyahoga County man into custody.

Officers found drugs, contraband and an undetermined amount of cash inside the home, which was consistent with the sale of drugs. Drugs that were suspected include marijuana and cocaine or heroin, all taken to a lab for testing.

At the home were four individuals, Darrell Strowder, 30, of Cleveland Heights, and Kaylynn Keener, Cindal Hawkins and Brittany Hissam.

According to Police Chief John Lane, Keener was the main occupant of the residence, while Hawkins and Hissam also were staying there. Lane said the drugs found in the home reportedly came from Strowder as he was reportedly dealing out of the house.

Lane said Strowder was taken into custody after it was determined he had given officers a different name, one that turned out to be that of his cousin. Strowder has been arrested on previous charges in the city under that name.

Strowder currently faces a charge of obstructing official business. However, additional charges are pending the outcome of lab tests on the suspected drugs. The case remains under investigation, Lane said, and it was unclear how long it would be until test results are made available.

According to officials, the home is owned by Windsor Properties, Louisiana Avenue, Chester, W.Va.
