A 38-year-old Mount Vernon man was arrested late Monday after an active meth lab was discovered at his Liberty Township residence, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and the Warren County Drug Task Force have been involved in a long term investigation of the clandestine manufacturing of methamphetamine. This criminal enterprise first came to the attention of law enforcement in late 2010, and continues to be ongoing today.

A Perry man is accused of attempting to make methamphetamine inside the Mentor Walmart. James Richardson, 37, was arrested Sunday evening after he allegedly walked around the store, collecting ingredients that are used to make the drug.
A man accused of operating a meth lab at his Mentor home was arraigned Friday in Lake County Common Pleas Court. James Sample, 45, is charged with illegal manufacture of drugs, illegal assembly/meth, aggravated possession of drugs and possessing criminal tools.
