Task force breaks up “elaborate” pot grow operation

The Montgomery County RANGE Task Force broke up an apparent marijuana grow operation Monday.

They raided a house at 1617 Hearthstone Drive and 215 Yates Street in Dayton.

Officers found what they call an “elaborate” grow operation. They pulled about 200 pot plants that had an automatic water and fertilizer feeder taking care of them. There were also automatic timers and grow lights confiscated.

Detectives took a large quantity of loose marijuana from the homes, as well as two handguns.

Matthew Bechter, 38, was arrested on illegal manufacture charges. He is being held in the Montgomery County Jail.
