Three arrested in drug bust

Two Detroit residents and a juvenile are in custody after a drug raid by the MARMET Task Force around 11 a.m. Friday.

According to a MARMET news release, a house at 470 Oak St. was allegedly being used for drug trafficking, and law enforcement reportedly seized 7.7 grams of heroin and 4 grams of cocaine along with numerous stolen items.

Marion County Sheriff Tim Bailey said MARMET officers, with assistance from the Marion Police Department and the sheriff’s office, served a search warrant on the property.

The three individuals were arrested on suspicion of trafficking heroin and cocaine, and formal charges are pending with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

“MARMET will continue to search out, investigate, and arrest drug dealers who decide to sell this poison in our community,” Marion police Chief Bill Collins said.
