Wanted man taken off the streets of Tiffin

On Monday night, September 12th, 2016, the Seneca County Drug Task Force-METRICH Enforcement Unit, along with additional Officers from the Tiffin Police Department, conducted a search of a residence located at 201 Gibson Street, Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio, for a wanted fugitive.

During the last few weeks, the Tiffin Police Department began receiving reports of a subject by the name of Cody Allen Johnson, 26 YOA, Tiffin, Ohio, had been seen in areas throughout Tiffin Ohio. Johnson who is known to have violent tendencies, was a wanted fugitive for an “active” warrant out of Tiffin for Safe Cracking.

Earlier Monday morning, the Tiffin Police Department received additional information from another Law Enforcement Agency reporting Johnson was a suspect in the Theft of several pistols, a rifle, & a large amount of ammo from their jurisdiction.

Later Monday afternoon, the Tiffin Police Department received another report of the suspect, Johnson being seen in the area of Autumn Lane, Tiffin, Ohio.

Officers from the Tiffin Police Department then teamed up with Agents from the Seneca County Drug Task Force – METRICH Enforcement Unit & through further investigation were eventually able to locate the fugitive hiding inside the Gibson Street residence.

Arrested was Cody Allen Johnson, 26 YOA, Tiffin, Ohio on a warrant out of the Tiffin Municipal Court. Additional charges of Possession of Crack Cocaine, Criminal Tools, Breaking & Entering, Kidnapping, Aggravated Menacing & multiple counts of Weapons Under Disability are all pending in conclusion with the entire investigation.

Johnson is being held at the Seneca County Jail pending further court proceedings.

Subsequent to the arrest of Johnson, a further search of the Gibson Street residence was conducted by Agents & Officers. The search unveiled a small amount of suspected Crack Cocaine, multiple stolen firearms, criminal tools & drug paraphernalia.

“The immediate response by Officers from the Tiffin Police Department & Agents from the Drug Task Force was instrumental to the success of apprehending this violent fugitive safely & removing this subject who was considered to be armed & dangerous from our community!”……Chief Fredrick Stevens, Tiffin Police Department said.
