Woman arrested after search

A Fostoria woman was charged with possession of crack cocaine after a drug-related search warrant was executed at her home Monday evening.

The warrant, signed by Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court Judge Mark Repp, was carried out at 215 Bannister St., the home of Jinetta L. Thompson, 34.

During the search, carried out by Fostoria Police Department and the Seneca County Drug Task Force-METRICH Enforcement Unit, investigators found cash, suspected crack cocaine, suspected cocaine, criminal tools and evidence of drug trafficking, according to a release from METRICH.

Thompson had been charged Monday night with possession of crack cocaine, said Detective Chuck Boyer, METRICH unit coordinator.

Additional charges were pending for trafficking crack cocaine and possession of criminal tools, according to the release, pending lab results and conclusion of the investigation.

In the release, Fostoria Police Chief Keith Loreno stated METRICH "was receiving a lot of drug intelligence on that specific residence reporting suspected drug activity for some time." Loreno praised METRICH and the Fostoria Police Department for carrying out the search warrant safely.

The Fostoria Police Department's K-9 unit assisted at the scene.
